License
MIT license.
VortexFlow is free and open-source software. The code, the build scripts, and the prebuilt disk images are all released under the MIT license, one of the shortest and most permissive licenses there is. The canonical copy lives in the repository as LICENSE; this page reproduces it.
What that means in practice
- Use it for anything, at work or at home, for free, forever.
- Read the source, change it, build your own copy.
- Fork it, redistribute it, or include parts of it in your own project, including a commercial one, as long as the copyright notice and this license travel with the code.
- It comes with no warranty. If a window switcher loses your window, the license says that is on you. (We would still like to hear about it.)
The MIT license covers the code. The VortexFlow name and mark are not part of that grant: if you ship a modified build, please give it a name of its own so people know whose bug they are reporting.
